What is NDIS?
The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.Â
The NDIS also facilitates access to community services for individuals with disabilities.
This comprises establishing relationships with educational institutions, libraries, schools, community organisations, sports organisations, and support groups, in addition to furnishing details regarding the assistance offered by individual state and territory governments.
Now, more than 500,000 Australians with disabilities are assisted by the NDIS in gaining access to the necessary services and supports.
This includes ensuring that around 80,000 children with developmental delay receive early intervention services in order to optimise their long-term outcomes.
